Flag

Based on history, it was only in January 11, 1861 when this state after it separated from the Union of America. The withdrawal came when the citizens of Alabama made a final decision and adopted its own flag, which the women of Montgomery designed for the beloved state. They recognize it as the official flag known as “Secession Convention Flag” or often they call it as “Republican of Alabama Flag.”

Unfortunately, a strong typhoon damaged the first official adopted flag back in February 10, 1861 and they decided to remove it to bring it to the office of the governor for several years. In February 16, 1895, the Alabama Legislature made a decision to allow the “Crimson Cross of St. Andrew on the Field of Write” to become the official state flag after almost seven decades. For more than 12 decades now, the Alabamians became proud of their flag.
